Thumbiano is made out of umbrella ribs and wood from wine boxes, it is a simplified version of an ancient African instrument Kalimba. Containing 8 notes, it is easily played with both your thumbs.
In this 60 minutes’ journey, you will begin by choosing a piece of wood with unique pattern and colors of the umbrella ribs. Then we will assemble and tune the Thumbiano together step by step.
This workshop can be conducted on site.
Suitable for participants 12+ years old.
Simple wood working and concentration skills are required.
8-20 participants in each session.
